Aftermath Of Swa Flood: Inspection On Dredging Silt And Sand Covered On Farmlands In Swa

Recent flood caused by collapse of the spillway of Swa Chaung Dam which left the deposit on the farmland. On Saturday, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Aung Thu inspected dredging silt and sand covered on farmlands in Swa.

He also discussed with officials on helping the farmers to cultivate the suitable crops on the farmland. He urged them to bring about mutual benefits between the farmers and private businesses. Officials reported on repairing the damaged farmlands, allocating back the farmlands to the owners and coordination made toward growing suitable crops.
The Union Minister and party later went to Ingyinkon Village beside the old Yangon-Mandalay expressway in Yedashe Township. They inspected the cultivation of paddies, and met with the local farmers.

They then proceeded to Swa Min Lan Village and inspected the repair works at the base of the village pagoda that was damaged by the recent flood.
