Aid To Rakhine: Cash, Rice Provided In Maungtaw

Aid assistance was provided for the locals in the villages of southern Maungtaw region on Wednesday. National Parliament Deputy Speaker U Aye Thar Aung together with Rakhine State Chief Minister U Nyi Pu and State Minister for Social Affairs provided rice to the locals in Maw Ya Wa Ti Village. They also provided cash and rice in Kyauk Panu Village. Also, they provided rice in Inn Din Village.

The Deputy Speaker said donations are mostly provided to those remained at the villages.

Deputy Speaker, National Parliament, Aye Tha Aung said “We provide cash assistance for the families of the security forces including Tatmadawmen and policemen who were killed in the terrorist attacks. We also provide cash for the families of national people including Mro ethnics who lost their relatives. For the rest donation, we mainly provide rice. In providing assistance, we prioritize for those who do not leave their villages amid fear as they are defending their natives.”

The Deputy Speaker also stressed that the Parliament will cooperate with the Government and security forces in carrying out for rule of law and stability in the region.

Deputy Speaker, National Parliament, Aye Tha Aung said “I wish to deploy more security forces in the area. It also needs to implement for transportation and regional development in the long run. It also needs to strive for safeguarding the sovereignty and regional stability. The parliament is going to cooperate with the Government and Tatmadaw in implementing these processes.” 

Relief aid worth over 40 million kyats was also provided in the ethnic villages of northern Maungtaw region.
