Astronauts ready for International Space Station launch

11 July 2017

The crews of International Space Station Expedition 52 and 53 prepared on Monday for their upcoming launches to the space station and toured Red Square.   >>>    NASA FLIGHT ENGINEER, RANDOLPH BRESNIK          "What that mission symbolized was the end of the construction phase of the space station. And what that's allowed us to do then is move on and become the national laboratory for us up in space and allow us to really expand and dedicate all the crew time we have toward the scientific research, the earth observation, the medical research and all the myriad of things we do on board the space station now."  <<<        They will orbit earth for 4.5 months during which time they will complete a number of scientific experiments.
