Briefing On Lethwei Fight: Lethwei Nation 50th Media Championship 2018 On August 5

The final match of Lethwei Nation 50th media Championship 2018 is going to be held on the 5th of August.

Myanmar Traditional Boxing Federation organizes the match in cooperation with MMTS and H&S Group. It’s a kind of attempt to draw attention to Myanmar traditional Lethwei and to promote it not only in local but also international arena. The boxers are going to compete for three different weight classes (57-61 Kg), (62-66 Kg) and (67-71 Kg). They passed the quarter-final and semi-final matches in May and July this year.

Executive, Myanmar Traditional Boxing Federation, Sai Zaw Zaw said “The reason why Myanmar audiences are interested in the match of Soe Lin Oo and Iquezang from Thailand is that Iquezang has experienced with Myanmar boxers and is never defeated. And, Soe Lin Oo is a good boxer as well. He is the second famous boxer after Tun Tun Min. Aside from their match, there will be three final matches and one female challenge fight too.”

The winner of 67-71 Kg weight class match will be awarded 4 million kyats. The winner of 62-66 weight class match will receive 3 million kyats. And 2 million kyats cash prize will go to the winner of 57-61 Kg weight class match. All the winners will get to receive Champion Belt as well.

Boxer, Phoenix Club, Soe Htet Oo said “My opponent, Ye Ta Kun, is a good boxer. I’m now training 2 times a day. I am not really excited to fight with him but I am going to fight with my best.”

The upcoming final match will take place on coming Sunday at 2 pm at Thein Phyu Stadium in Yangon. Ticket prices range from 8,000 kyats, 20,000 kyats to 30,000 kyats – tickets will be available at the stadium on the event day. The matches will be broadcast Live on CANAL+ Action.
