Campaign Against Violence: “It Takes Myanmar To End Physical Violence Against Children”

As part of the global campaign to end violence against children, World Vision Myanmar initiated the campaign under the title “It Takes Myanmar to End Physical Violence Against Children”. The 5-year campaign in Myanmar was officially launched in on Thursday in Nay Pyi Taw. Global records show that 1.7 billion of children experienced violence.

Communication Officer, World Vision, Naw Phi Bi said "The campaign is in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. We will also carry out the public launch in Yangon. We will conduct educative campaign for children, parents and schools. We also have plans to draw positive discipline to be included in the school curriculum."

Chairman, Amyotha Hluttaw Women and Children's Rights Committee, Dr. Mya Thaung said "We welcome the campaign. Now, in Asia, the campaign started in Vietnam and Myanmar."

Violence against children has many faces and forms: physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect or negligent treatment, emotional abuse, and more.
