China’s east coast prepares for Typhoon Jongdari

3 August 2018

A series of safety measures were taken on Thursday in China’s eastern Province and Shanghai, ahead of Typhoon Jongdari. Over 60 leisure boats and over 200 fishing boats returned to the dock well ahead of time to avoid the typhoon. Local government officials ran thorough safety checks along with the boat owners and make necessary adjustments.

Shanghai issued a yellow alert for typhoon to alert residents for rainstorms and strong winds. China has a four-tier color-coded weather warning system, with red representing the most severe weather, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
