Coffee output expected to decline in Colombia this year

23 February 2018

Colombia's coffee harvest is expected to decline this year due to climate change factors. Precipitation and dense clouds from the regional weather phenomenon has seen a delay in coffee trees in central Colombia blooming. Colombia is the world's largest producer of Arabica beans, having produced around 14 million 60-kilo bags in recent years. This year's figure is expected to slip down to around 13.5 million bags.
