Cooperation: Myanmar To Receive 2.4 Million USD As Mekong-Lancang Special Fund

An agreement on the Cooperation on Projects of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund for Myanmar was signed on Friday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.

Myanmar will receive 2.4 million USD for 10 projects to be implemented by Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Transport and Communications, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture and Ministry of Education.

China established Mekong-Lancang Special fund of 300 million US dollar in the 2nd Mekong-Lancang Foreign Ministers Meeting in 2016.

132 projects were selected for implementation under the Mekong-Lancang Special Fund - 10 projects from Myanmar, 83 from China, 16 from Cambodia, 13 from Laos, 5 from Thailand, and 5 from Vietnam.
