To Create New Generation: State And Regional Billiards And Snooker Competition

A 6-day state and regional level billiards and snooker competition 2018-2019 entered the 2nd day on Thursday.

The competition at Wunna Theikdi Indoor stadium in Nay Pyi Taw aims to produce a new generation of ambitious and outstanding players in billiards and snooker games. 

Head Coach (State and Regional Level), Myanmar Billiards & Snooker Federation, Thatoe Aung said “There are 16 players each from the states and regions participating in this competition – all of them are under 25. We really want to produce a new generation of ambitious and outstanding players in billiards and snooker games. We will present gold, silver and bronze medals with cash prizes of 400,000 kyats, 200,000 kyats and 100,000 kyats.”

One of the players shared his views on organizing such kind of competition for the young players. 

Player (Yangon Region), Than Zaw Tun said “I started playing billiards when I was 13 years old and I love billiards game indeed. This competition is a great opportunity for all the young players like us to show what we can do. I will try my best to grab the gold medal.” 

This state and regional level billiards and snooker competition is set to be held till Monday.
