Cultural Exchange: MRTV And GXBS Jointly Launch TV Series

“Mingalaba, Chung”  TV series is going to be broadcasted on MRTV Channel starting tonight, 22nd August.

The Chinese TV series “Mingalaba, Chung” is the joint effort of Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) and Guangxi Broadcasting Service (GXBS) of China. Union Minister for Information Dr. Pe Myint attended the inauguration event held at MRTV in Nay Pyi Taw Tatkone, on Tuesday.

 MRTV contracted with GXBS for broadcasting Chinese television programs, signifying the deepened interexchange between the media sectors of the two countries.

Union Minister, Ministry of Information, H.E. Dr. Pe Myint said “MRTV and GXBS signed broadcast agreement in September 2013. After signing agreement, the experts from both sides exchanged study tours for many times. As a result, the agreement was updated on March and agreement on cooperation for broadcasting has been signed in June this year. In the future, we could implement and follow up the facts of the agreement and this TV series is one of the outcomes of the agreement too.”

This series is very popular among Chinese audiences and it is narrated in Myanmar language by six experienced staff from MRTV.

The recording room for doing audio records for Chinese TV series in Myanmar language was also inaugurated by the officials from both sides. Every year, the staff will be sent to China for translation and production of Chinese TV series.

Information minister, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region,  Fan Xiaoli said “We are going to join hand in further program exchange, TV series production, media forum and other fields. We also hope to step up in the sectors of radio, TV, magazine, news and publishing in cooperation with the Ministry of Information as well. I wish the Phauk Phaw friendship between China and Myanmar will be stronger than ever.”

The “Mingalaba, Chung”  will be shown at 10 am on every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday on MRTV.
