Dhamma Gathering: Dhamma School Foundation Holds 5th Gathering

Dhamma School Foundation held the 5th gathering at Thuwanna National Indoor Stadium on Sunday.

The Dhamma School Foundation started off with the opening of teachers’ training schools back in May 2013. A total of 12 grades are now available at the Dhamma School; grade 1 to 5 as primary level, 6 to 9 as middle level, grade 10 to +2 as high level. Those who passed the matriculation exam and graduates can join the school as lecturers.

Secretary 1, Dhamma School Foundation (Central), Dr. Ashin Nyarna Wuntha said “It’s a 2-day event starting on Saturday when we discussed the main procedures with the theme of maintaining and developing the foundation from the 5th year forward. We held a workshop and read papers. I am hoping more than 15,000 attendees to come today - we prepared enough space and food for them.”

Chairman of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, 250 monks from States and Regions, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein, Dhamma School’s teachers and students, technicians and donors attended the ceremony.

Trainer, Dhamma School Foundation (Central), Moe Pa Lae said “I am very happy to see lots of people from various regions attending the workshop and religion propagating ceremony that train the ethics of the children. A charity fair is also outside the stadium.”

Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein gave a speech on the success of Dhamma School Foundation being a great help for the propagation of Buddhism and then followed by the performances of students from Aung Thu Kha Dhamma School.

Attendee, Sagaing Region, Hnin Yu Wai said “I came here to get knowledge and experience as they invited everyone relating to the Dhamma school. I had the experience of studying Dhamma at village’s monastery before Dhamma School Foundation.”

So far, Dhamma School Foundation trained 50, 000 teachers who are now leading and lecturing children with Buddhist Ethical Education System.
