Earthquake strikes Indonesia, destroying dozens of houses

In Indonesia, an earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale jolted West Java yesterday.  The disaster destroyed dozens of buildings including houses and some schools. So far there have been no reports of casualties. An impact assessment of the quake is underway. A high school in Banten province was seriously damaged by the earthquake. Indonesia is prone to quakes as it lies in a vulnerable zone called the Pacific Ring of Fire.
