Focus shifts to rescue and relief as rain abates in India's flood-hit Kerala

Crowds of people of  homes and belongings were destroyed in Kerala's deadly floods. They collected bags of food and donated clothes in the town of Chengannur on Sunday as torrential rain abated.Rescue teams were focused on Chengannur where about 5,000 people are feared to be trapped.

An endless stream of trucks and vehicles carrying water, food and clothes entered the flood hit town on Sunday, providing relief to thousands of people relying on donations and aid to survive.Kerala's chief minister said 725,000 people were taking refuge at 6,000 relief camps.
