Freestyle Chinlone: Grand Final Of Tiger Streets Freestyle Chinlone Competition

The Grand Final of Tiger Streets Freestyle Chinlone Competition and Award Ceremony were held on Saturday in Yangon. The competition was organized by Myanmar Chinlone Federation and Tiger beer. 8 teams from Mandalay, Mawlamyaing, Tauggyi and Yangon contested in this Grand Final.

Vice chairman, Myanmar chinlone federation, Ye Aung said “This is to promote Myanma traditional chin lone among the young people. Competitions were held in big cities and now the final here. 3 teams will be awarded today.  We are looking for talented players via such a competition like this to train as the professional players.”

Each team is comprised of 6 to 8 players and given 20 minutes for the performance.

Judge, Thein Han said “We judge based on such facts as creation, supporting and team work. In fact, competitions help our chinlone sports to exist till today.”

Player, Shwe Mandalay Team, Myo Min Thu said “Our team is comprised of 8 players. I started playing Chinlone when I was 12. I expect to win an award.”

5 million kyats for the 1st winning team, 3 million for the 2nd and 2 million for the 3rd were awarded.
