'Green' march sees Dominicans unite against corruption

13 August 2018

Thousands of protesters flooded the streets of the capital of the Dominican Republic on Sunday. Demonstrators peacefully marched through major avenues in Santo Domingo and chanted demands for the president and other top officials to resign.

The protest was another manifestation of the widespread discontent since last year's revelations as executives from Brazilian engineering company  paid $92 million in bribes to officials from the poor country.
