Opposition leaders in Honduras called on citizens yesterday to exercise an uprising against President Juan Orlando Hernandez. They cited fraud in recent elections that secured another mandate for the incumbent. The vote tally had initially clearly favoured the opposition candidate but it swung in favour of the incumbent after a 36-hour delay. The Organisation of American had called for new elections amidst irregularities and errors. The dispute has sparked deadly protests and a night-time curfew.
