ICT Summit: Promoting Technologies, Business Opportunities
Myanmar Computer Federation hosted the Asian Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) ICT Summit 2016 in Yangon, Tuesday.
The summit is known as one of the region’s high-powered IT forums, providing platforms for government and industry to exchange information and develop closer relationship and most importantly, identify new business opportunities.
CHAIRMAN, ASOCIO, BUNRAK SARAGGANANDA: “…We are here to promote the business opportunities in ICT areas with MCF, national ICT association of Myanmar. Last year we held in KL before that it was held in Hanoi, Vietnam. We initiate three tasks force to promote a basic opportunity of ICT in the region and also specifically to AEC. One of the task force is the human capital development, second one is e-commerce alliance and third one is the smart city. All of these three tasks force is to promote ICT in the region.”
Presently, ASOCIO represents the interests of 31 economies, comprising 24 members from the countries. Today, ASOCIO’s members account for more than 10,000 ICT companies and represent approximately US$350 billion of ICT revenue in the region. Myanmar is a member of ASOCIO since 1998.
President, Myanmar Computer Federation, Khun Oo: We cooperate with ASOCIO to promote the ICT progress. We are one of the members of ASOCIO aiming to share technologies and promote the ICT business opportunity. This is the first time we hosted the ASOCIO summit. Presently, Myanmar ICT sector and the economy are growing under the leadership of the new government with the influence of ICT companies.
Panel discussions, ICT talks and networking sessions are included at the summit.
ASOCIO ICT Summit 2016 will end Wednesday.
