Korean Film Festival 2016: IT'S Aimed To Boost Friendship
Korean film festival 2016 organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea kicked off at the Nay Pyi Taw Cinema in Yangon, Thursday.
Every year the Korean film festival is held in order to promote the friendship between the two countries and introduce the Korean films to the Myanmar people.
The cultural officer of the Korean Embassy said the films bring closer the people of two countries.
Second Secretary, Political Affairs and Culture, Shin Joung-hoon: “Cinema speaks general language. We want to introduce the Korean film to the Myanmar people. Through the movie, we want to communicate each other. We promote the communication between two people. That’s the main aim of the film festival.”
Korean films have entered the country for more than a decade and been popular among the Myanmar people. This is the 11th film festival. During the festival, three films in different genres included horror, comedy and historical drama will be shown to the audience.
Audience, Pa Pa San Kyaw : In this festival, comedy and oldies as well as zombie characters are screened. What’s most appealing to me is the zombie character something like “Train to Busan”. In fact, in Asian film market, the zombie movies are rarely produced.
The festival will run three days until Saturday at Nay Pyi Taw Cinema with no admission fee.
