At least 60 people dead after heavy flooding in northern India

29 July 2018

At least 60 people have died in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh after floods triggered by heavy rains, authorities said on Saturday (July 28). Thousands have been affected by floods that have submerged many areas and caused severe water logging.

Seasonal monsoon rains, a lifeline for farmers across India, cause deaths and damage to property every year between July and September.
