The Yangon University of Education held an art exhibition to mark the 103rd birthday of General Aung San on Tuesday.
The artworks are the creation by the university’s students. The rector of the Yangon University of Education opened the art exhibition and delivered a speech regarding the birth of General Aung San.
Head (English Department), Yangon University of Education, Htay Htay Win said “Students celebrated General Aung San’s birthday by giving out candies and poems to their teachers in previous years. This year, the art exhibition displaying the drawings and poems by the students was held with the permission of the rector.”
Third Year Student, Yangon University of Education, Nyein Chan Ko said “Multiple students participated in the celebration by giving out their drawings and poems. I wrote a poem titled “Bogyoke Aung San Pyithu Pann.”
Third Year Student, Yangon University of Education, Hein Aung Aung said “This is my drawing and it took me a week. I paid attention to every little detail to make it looks real and ancient. We always remember General Aung San.”
General Aung San who was born on the 13th of February 1915, played a vital role in fighting for Myanmar’s Independence from the British rule and considered as the Father of the Nation of modern-day Myanmar.
