To mark the 73rd birthday of the State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, NLD members and supporters donated blood to the Myanmar Central National Blood Bank on Tuesday in Yangon.
It’s the NLD Youth Tasks Force of Lannmadaw Township which organized this year blood donation ceremony to mark the State Counsellor’s birthday falling on the 19th of June.
In-charge, NLD Youth Tasks Force, Lannmadaw Tsp., Thet Htar Zaw said “Concerning this blood donation ceremony, we put vinyl wraps around the city a week before her birthday and made announcements 2 days ago. Blood is essential to life. I’m glad that a lot of volunteers and donors joined this blood donation activity.”
The National League for Democracy, NLD, has been holding blood donation ceremonies on the State Counsellor’s birthday every year since her 68th birthday.
Donor, Lannmadaw Tsp., Pyae Phyo Hein said “I decided to participate as soon as I heard the announcement of holding blood donation ceremony to mark Amay Su's birthday and this is my first time donating blood.”
Donor, Pabedan Tsp., Nwe Yee Mon said “My boyfriend is a member of NLD and I found out about this donation through him. This is my first blood donation. I wish the State Counselor lives a long life and continues serving the country and people.”
Rice and meal offerings, blood donations and similar donations were taken place across the country by members and supporters of NLD to mark the State Counsellor’s 73rd birthday.
