MSME Master Plan: 2-Day Workshop Held In Nay Pyi Taw

29 March 2018

The Ministry of Industry organized national MSME master plan (2019-2030) workshop in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

Myanmar has already enacted the SME Law, Bylaws and policies. All the necessary institutions have already been formed at the national level and regional level as well.

The workshop aims to come out the MSME master plan which includes the action plan and time line plan for the effectively development of the industry.

Director General, Industrial Inspection and Supervisory Department, Aye Aye Win said "We need to implement for promoting the SME industry. We need to draw a master plan to use the expenditure effectively and efficiently. It also needs to have the same goal among the network. We have already laid down the policy, and it needs to carry out with the action plan."

Since the Macro economy is relevant to the country, the attendees hope to come out the fruitful result from this 2-day discussion.

Founder, PS Business School, Myo Min said "Data collection is essential for MSMEs. After collecting all the information, we need to make decision for further steps. We don’t have exact data at present. But there are over 90% of MSMEs in the country. To develop the MSME industry, it must have the same mission. Today, we all gather to discuss for it, and it is the first step to improve the industry."

The Ministry is drafting the national MSME master plan in cooperation with FNF organization from Germany.
