National Parliament: Development, Migrant Workers & Natural Resources Issues Focused

National Parliament held its regular meeting on Wednesday. A question raised was related to the plan to hold talks with the Malaysian government on the issuance of Certificate of Identity for the illegal Myanmar migrant workers.

Also, whether the government has granted license to import chilled meat, fish and prawn through Myawaddy Border Trade gates was enquired. Another question was related to development plans for the areas in Dawei Special Economic Zone. National Parliament Bill Committee reported on a bill amending early childhood development submitted by the People’s Parliament.

The National Parliament sought approval to the bill. Parliamentarians and union level organizations officials also discussed a proposal which urged the government to prevent the loss of natural resources as national duty. The parliament sought approval to the proposal.
