Myanmar National Airlines (MNA) will begin flights to Phuket from Yangon International Airport on the 25th of March.
MNA will offer business class cabin, premium economy class cabin and economy class cabin service with new Embraer-190 aircraft/ Boeing 737-800 NG. It will operate two times a week - Friday and Sunday. Yangon-Phuket Round Trip ticket prices start from 250 USD.
CEO, Myanmar National Airlines, Capt. Than Tun said “Due to the Visa-free Visits between Myanmar and Thailand, we decided to operate Yangon-Phuket flight. Currently, if we want to go to Phuket, we need to transit in Bangkok. Soon, travelers will have an easy and comfortable direct flight to Phuket from Yangon.”
Myanmar National Airlines is the national flag carrier of Myanmar and has the most extensive route network within the country. One of the oldest and most experienced airlines in Asia, MNA flies to 28 domestic and 6 international destinations.
CEO, Myanmar National Airlines, Capt. Than Tun said “We have plans to add one more flight to Yangon-Phuket route if the number of travelers will increase. MNA served 50,000 passengers in 2016, 1 million in 2017 and this year we expect 1.5 million. We are now adding new international routes to complement the extensive domestic network that open up Myanmar to both business and leisure travelers. To China will be our next international flight route this year.”
MNA has been in existence for 70 years as it was originally established in 1948 as UBA – Union of Burma Airways. In 1950, international services were first introduced with flights between Yangon and Bangkok, Calcutta and Chittagong.
