Nursing And Midwifery: Myanmar Nurse And Midwife Council Holds 1st Plenary Session

The Myanmar Nurse and Midwife Council (MNMC) held its 1st plenary session on Sunday in Yangon.

In his address at the session, Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr. Myint Htwe urged the Council to form connections with international counterparts, to sharpen the skills of nurse and midwife and to have the nurse and midwife follow code of ethics.

He also urged the nurses and midwives to try and meet the 11 points of the core competency standard.

The Union Minister pledged assistance for the development of nursing and midwifery sector. 3,600 trainees will be accepted at nursing schools across the country in 2018 to address the shortage of nurses.
