OAR coach surprised by reports of suspected doping in curling at Olympics

19 February 2018

A Russian medallist at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics is suspected of having tested positive for doping, a source at the Games said yesterday.  The coach for "Olympic Athletes from Russia" curling team said he was only aware of reports that a banned substance was found in initial testing.

But he said he highly doubted the athlete would have intentionally taken any such substances. If a doping violation were to be confirmed, it is likely that the athlete would be stripped of bronze medal.
