The first coordination meeting for holding pagoda festival of Kyauk Taw Gyi Pagoda was held at the Pagoda on Friday.
The pagoda festival is held annually and this is the 17th time. The preparation for it has been initiated since the six months ago. The meeting was held with the aim at confirming the sub-committee members and delegating the responsibilities for each committee.
Member, Kyauk Taw Gyi pagoda Board of Trustee, Maung Maung Myay said “The board of trustee doesn’t own the pagoda. We are responsible for serenity of the pilgrims, peacefulness of the pagoda and attracting the donors. We are happy if many pilgrims visit the pagoda. I am so glad that we got to donate the 46 members of Sangha invited. It is a good deed as people got the chance to visit and offer rice to the members of State Sangha Mahanayaka Committee.”
The attendees from respective committees and associations discussed the matters relating to the pagoda festival and exchanged their experiences and perspectives. The ceremony of offering provisions, religious sermon, competition of Htamane delicacy making, Myanmar traditional sport of Chin Lone playing, and many more events and activities to be part of the festival.
Member, Kyauk Taw Gyi pagoda Board of Trustee, Maung Maung Myay said “I would like to invite everyone to visit the pagoda not only during the pagoda festival but also in other times. Kyauk Taw Gyi pagoda is a unique one with the name of Lawka Changtha Abaya Laba Muni. Lawka Changtha means the peaceful world, Abaya stands for free from dangers and Laba Muni indicates the pagoda with great luck. The pilgrims can worship at a Buddha image and feel peaceful by visiting Kyauk Taw Gyi pagoda.”
The Kyauk Taw Gyi pagoda festival will last for 15 days from 21st January to 2nd February.
