Partnership Cooperation: Vietnam’s National Day Reception held in Yangon

The Embassy of Vietnam in Yangon celebrated the 73rd Anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on Friday.

Union Minister for International Cooperation U Kyaw Tin and wife attended the ceremony held at Melia Hotel in Yangon.

The celebration also marked the 1st Anniversary of Viet Nam-Myanmar Comprehensive Cooperative Partnership.

The Vietnamese Ambassador expressed that the two countries have stood together for Independence struggles and also stand again together for national development.

Ambassador of Vietnam Embassy (Yangon) H.E. Dr. Luan Thuy Duong said "We stand side by side in the past to struggle for our national independence and our national liberation. And now, we stand by side again in the course of national building, national production and national development.”

Myanmar and Vietnam have established diplomatic relations in May 1975, and since then, the relations between the two countries have been strengthened and developed.

Chairman of Mytel Khin Maung Soe said "Vietnam and Myanmar have a long-term relationship. Myanmar has once provided assistance to Vietnam on a friendly relation basic. And now, Vietnam is willing to cooperate with Myanmar in many sectors. We have also seen development in technology and also come to know that these successes have been gained with the collective strength by the people."

Chairman of Myanmar-Vietnam Friendship Association Tint Swai said "Vietnam has developed after overcoming the raging of war. For economic development, investment has also been made in Myanmar. Since the two countries have long-term relations, Myanmar has much potential to gain great benefits."

The trade volume between the two countries has reached over 800 million US dollars. It's been double compared to last two years. It is targeted to reach 1 billion US dollars in next year.
