People’s Parliament: Discussions Focus On Construction And Maintenance Of Roads And Bridges

Pyithu Hluttaw continued its regular session on Wednesday focusing on transportation sector. MP from MaukMae Constituency raised questions on upgrading of Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw-Mandalay expressway as 4-lane road in order to reduce the traffic accidents. He also asked the plan to install modern security equipment and to draw rules and regulations for the vehicles as a special project.

Other questions included maintenance of LaBoet Village-MinKin Road and NyaungKone Bridge, construction of roads and bridges in KhaungLan Phu Township, tar paving of MyitKyiNa-PanSaung Road, upgrading of the rural road in Saw Township, and construction of Kani-Kin Road section.

The session also sought for the approval on the Bill Amending the Myanmar Maternal and Child Welfare Association Law. 12 MPs also discussed the proposal on the rules and regulations for tender bidding and fair competing for the tenders. MP Daw Nan Kham Aye from Namtmatu Constituency submitted the proposal urging the concerned Ministries to take responsibility for the drawing and estimation of the tenders that will be incompatible with the region and to let the tender bidding companies participate in the process of rating. She also urged to follow the rules and regulations of the tender bidding.
