People’s Parliament: Summer Water Shortage Prevention

The People’s Parliament held its regular meeting Monday focusing on summer water shortage prevention. Members of the Parliament raised plans of digging wells and lakes to store rain to prevent summer drinking water shortage, construction of new sluice gate in south Dagon Myothit, granting systematic loans for farmers growing inside and outside the reserved forest, and the return of seized farmland due to sugar mill project. The Parliament Banks & Financial Development Committee submitted the annual report. The Parliament held discussions relating the amendment of Water Resource and River Management Bill. Members of the Parliament then discussed proposal on "crops insurance services in order to ensure the interest of farmers who have been experiencing the danger of natural disasters and insects."
