Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye and Union Enterprise for Humanitarian Assistance, Resettlement and Development in Rakhine Chief Coordinator Dr. Aung Tun Thet made a field trip to Rakhine State on Tuesday.
They visited the resettlement sites in Myo Mi Chaung , Kyun Pauk Pyu Su, Linbagonna and Pwintphyuchaung villages for those who fled to Bangladesh after the terrorist attacks in 2017 August. Matters related to resettling the repatriates to their original villages or nearby and helping them to get previous jobs or better ones were coordinated.
The Union Minister and party also visited IDP camps in Myebon of Mrauk U District. The Union Minster stressed that long stays at the temporary camp would disrupt education, healthcare and other social matters, urging the displaced persons to cooperate with officials.
He also said acquiring National Verification Card to identify nationality can help get more rights and travels as well. The Union Minister coordinated with departmental officials on education and health issues and closing the current camp and conducting resettlement.
