Some 100 relatives of missing persons came to a morgue in Mexico's Veracruz state on Tuesday to view photographs of clothing, accessories and identification cards found on bodies recovered recently from mass graves. The bodies of at least 174 people were found in Veracruz, prosecutors said last week.
The state's attorney general said investigators discovered the bodies in 32 graves in the central part of the state after an Aug. 8 tip from an unidentified person that they had been dumped there. Veracruz has long been wracked by violent crime. There were more than 30,000 murders across Mexico last year.
