Myanmar migrant workers have been returning home from Thailand since the Thai government amended its laws on foreign labour. 70 migrant workers (48 men and 22 women) who do not have the proper documents returned home on Saturday through Myawaddy of Kayin State.
At the migrant worker office, officials inspected them to check whether terrorists, culprits, and counterfeit money makers were among them or whether they brought drugs, arms, or counterfeit money.
The returnees were provided with food, water and necessary assistance, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
