Several injured after van hits pedestrians in north London

British police are called to a North London street after reports that a vehicle has collided with pedestrians, leaving a number of casualties. Graham Mackay reports. Emergency services rushing to a north london street in the early hours of Monday (June 19) after reports a vehicle rammed into pedestrians at Finsbury Park just after midnight.

Police say several people have been injured, with many receiving treatment at the scene. The Muslim Council of Britain says a van ploughed through a crowd of people as they were leaving a mosque after prayers. Authorities say one person has been arrested. Britain is on edge after a series of recent attacks involving vans, including one earlier this month, when Islamic militants mowed down eight people.
