Shan State Trip: President Stresses People-Centered Governance

President U Win Myint on Tuesday met with officials from the state government, state high court, members of Self-Administered Division and Zone, state Hluttaw and state/district/township departmental officials in Lashio of Shan State.

The President called for efforts to implement policies developed for the country’s reform process, stressing people-centered governance with fair administration securing the people’s freedom, security and enjoyment. He highlighted the importance of cooperation on anti-drug programme, urging the officials to persuade social organizations and the public to cooperate more. 

The President also stressed scrutiny and return of confiscated lands. He called for cooperation on anti-corruption programme and accountability for fair justice. He stressed the importance in serving the public dutifully. Shan state development works were reported to the President. Calling for efforts, the President stressed that fairness implementation can support in building a democratic federal union. Following the meeting, President U Win Myint concluded his Shan State visit.
