Sideline Meeting: State Counsellor Meets Vietnamese President

State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi met Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on September 13th. Union Minister at the Union Government Office U Thaung Tun, Union Minister for International Cooperation U Kyaw Tin, Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Set Aung and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended the meeting.

Earlier in the day, the State Counsellor met with Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab.

The meetings were held at the sideline of the World Economic Forum on ASEAN which was hosted by Vietnam. In the evening, the State counsellor and party left Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi of Vietnam for Myanmar. They were seen off by the minister of science and technology of Vietnam, the Myanmar ambassador to Vietnam and the military attaché (Army, Navy and Air) and the officials at the airport.

On arrival of Nay Pyi Taw Airport, the state counsellor and party were greeted by the union minister for the office of the state counsellor, chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, deputy minister for the office of president and the first head of mission of Vietnam embassy.
