Stock Market: YSX Marked The 2nd Anniversary

A seminar on the Myanmar investment sector and future stock exchange market was held in Yangon on Sunday.

 The seminar took place to mark the 2nd anniversary of Yangon Stock Exchange.

YSX started with over 4000 customers when it first launched trading in March 2016, and now it increased to over 34,000 customers.

The discussion focused on the challenges and opportunities of Stock exchange market based on the 2 years experience.

Executive Senior Manager, Administration Department (YSX), Thet Htun Oo said "We invited the investors and share holders for attending the anniversary. There are lots of booths for one stop service for investor’s account opening by securities companies at the event. For progressing of stock trading process, we run the online trading since 2017." 

Currently, YSX extended the trading hours for both order entry period and call auction period for 4 times a day to attract more traders.

Managing Director, MTSH, Aung Soe Tha said "I am really thought positive on increasing trading hour instead of two times. I hope it will attract more customers for trading. If it’s not unfamiliar with stock exchange market, there are awareness programs for the investors, insurers and media as well."

Yangon Stock exchange is a joint-venture company established by Myanmar Economic bank, Daiwa Institute of research and Japan exchange group.

At present, five YSX’s listed securities are operating in the stock exchange market.
