In a suburb of Paris, tensions are simmering as the Muslim community in the area have resorted to praying in the streets. They are claiming that there was no space for worship. Some 100 French officials said that the street prayers were against French law of separation of church and state. Local Muslims have been protesting against the closure of their place of worship in the town centre. They accused the mayor of ignoring their request to find a suitable venue for their Friday prayers.
