The inauguration ceremony for the opening of basketball techniques and referee training course with the cooperation of Myanmar Tatmataw Basketball Committee and Myanmar Basketball Federation was held at KyiteKaSan Basketball Court.
The basketball techniques and referee training course is opened with the support of Sport and Physical Education Department of the Ministry of Health and Sports to develop Myanmar Basketball and Myanmar Tatmataw sports.
At the ceremony, the 5 coaches for Basketball techniques course and 6 coaches for Basketball referee course were introduced to the chosen 36 trainees from Military Headquarters of different States and Regions.
Secretary, Myanmar Basketball Federation, Kyaw Kyaw Win said “As this is a referee training course, the individual skills will be practiced first. Then, we will instruct the tactics how to train other people. People can improve their physical and mental health by playing basketball. I play basketball also to promote them and I want other people to play basketball too.”
The preparations for the course initiated 6 months ago with the fund supported by Ministry of Health and Sports. One month course of basketball techniques and referee training was decided to begin on 25th of January as soon as the KyiteKaSan Basketball Hall is available.
Coach, Myanmar Basketball Federation, Zaw Min Soe said “This course is opened to raise the standards of Tatmataw sport competitions and turn out the international level basketball players. We have high expectations on the trainees. I lay hopes on them to become the national selections of Myanmar Basketball team.”
The outstanding players will be sent to ASEAN Army Sport Games and SEA Games as Myanmar’s representatives after the course is finished.
