To choose these schools, we decided after discussing with districts education officers in the April workship based on their reports on the schools which tend to be more vulnerable and the schools which have high buildings.”

For this UNDP’ project of 100 schools training program included each 25 schools from 4 districts of Yangon Region. For this 3 days training, totaling 32 teachers included 8 teachers from each district and 8 observers from the department of disaster management, all together 40 trainees will be given.

Education Officer, Western District, San Myint Oo said “At this training, mostly headmasters of the schools which have the high building are attending. They will carry on giving training for the rest of the 100 schools within Yangon region. This training will be quite effective for the peoples and children. They will know how to respond and how to protect themselves, if they face the natural disaster.”
