U-19 Football Tournament: Chief Minister Presented Champion Trophy And Awards

The western district team won the trophy of Yangon region Chief Minister’s Cup U-19 inter-township football cup on Monday after defeating the eastern district team 1-0 at the final match.

The final match and awards ceremony of the Yangon region Chief Minister’s Cup U-19 inter-township football tournament was held on the football ground of Padaytha stadium, South Okkalapa township in Yangon.

Yangon region chief minister U Phyo Min Thein, deputy speaker of Yangon region Hluttaw, mayor of YCDC and officials attended the final match of tournament and prize presenting ceremony.

Such tournament aims to develop the country’s football sport and to turn out outstanding players for the country said director from the sports and physical education department.

Director, Sports and Physical Education Department, Aung Moe said “Through the matches of tournament, we have found out some potential players.  They will be given further trainings putting in a sport camp in Nay Pyi Taw.”

After the match, the awards presenting ceremony continued, where the Yangon region chief Minister, deputy speaker of Yangon region hluttaw and Mayor of YCDC presented the trophy and cash prizes to the first and second place winners team.

Player, Western District, Kyaw Nanda said “We carried out the training about 1 month for this tournament.”

We are very happy for winning the championship. Our rival team is also very good. We tried our best.

Although eastern district team was missed the championship cup, Some of the players got the outstanding prizes.

Player, Eastern district, Lan San Aung said “We lost the final match but we encouraged among our players. We played very hard in the last matches. We also did training twice a week. This is the good match for us and we also got many experiences.”

Not only first prizes but also best player, middle field player, forward player, defender and high goal scorer prizes were given. Yangon region Chief Minister’s Cup U-19 inter-township football tournament began from 11th to 20th July and a total of four football teams were participated.
