Vehicle ploughs into pedestrians in southern China, killing four and injuring 19

A minivan lost control and ploughed into pedestrians, killing four and injuring 19 in southern China, state media reported on Thursday. State broadcaster CCTV released the surveillance video of the vehicle speeding through heavy traffic and hitting pedestrians and motorcyclists in Nanning city.

Casualties were seen lying on the street in the aftermath while passersby attempted to lift the van to free people trapped underneath. The accident was caused by brake failure according to the driver. He had been put under criminal detention and the case is under investigation.
