Officials in Virginia on Saturday condemned the "premeditated violence" in the city of Charlottesville. That claimed the life of at least one person and injured some 35 others. More than a dozen were injured after protests turned violent.
VIRGINIA GOVERNOR , TERRY MCAULIFFE said "And I have a message to all the white supremacists and the Nazis who came into Charlottesville today. Our message is plain and simple. Go home. You are not wanted in this great commonwealth. Shame on you. You pretend that you are patriots but you are anything but a patriot."
Charlottesville Police Chief said many injured after a car plowed into a crowd near the scene of the earlier unrest. The male driver of the vehicle was in custody . Police were treating the incident as a criminal homicide investigation.
