Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin together with the region Ministers and wives, Tatmadaw Senior officials, region/district/Township departmental officials, members of region police force and family members attended the celebration of 59th Anniversary of Myanmar Police Force Day which falls on the 1st of October held at the Magway Township Hall in the morning on 1st October.
In his opening speech, the Chief Minister U Tint Lwin said that Myanmar Police Force has been transforming since the period of independence. On 1st October, 1964, it was renamed as People’s Police Force and since the 1st October, 1995, it was named as Myanmar Police Force together with the changes of essence and appearance to emerge the police force which carried out the interests of the people.
With the implementation of people-centered policing, the four objectives of police force including internal security and law and order, rule of law, prevention and protection of narcotic drugs and public contribution are being implemented. The members of police force serving in Magway Region have been awarding the gallantry medals, certificates for valour and courage and good performance acknowledgement prizes etc.
Next, the Chief of Magawy Region police force Police-Col Lin Htut read the message sent by the Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Chief of Myanmar Police Force Lt-Gen Ni Lin Aung.
Then, the Chief Minister, Senior Tatmadaw Officers, Chief justice of region high court, region Minister for security and border affairs and the Chief of Magway Region police force awarded the honorary medal and cash of honor to the members of police who sacrifice their lives and limbs in battle against the terrorist groups members PDFs.Afterward, the Video clip commemorating Myanmar Police Force Day was screened, the documentary group photo was taken and the Chief Minister and party viewed the exhibition booths displayed in commemorating 59th Anniversary Myanmar Police Force Day.
