Agriculture and Irrigation: Thriving plantations and irrigation facilities

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Bo BoKyaw visited Yamethin Township in Mandalay Region on September 4th to inspect the thriving agricultural plantations.

During his tour, the Deputy Minister oversaw the monsoon paddy field in Thin Pan Kone Village-tract and long staple cotton plantation in Bwet Village-tract. He instructed the farmers to strive for achieving targeted yields through cooperative efforts among farmer groups.

The Deputy Minister and party also inspected the water inflow into the Kyee Ni Lake, and maintenance works at Taw Twin Hla Diversion Weir and water inflow at ChaungKauk Dam in PyawBwe Township.

During the inspection, the Deputy Minister instructed for extended cultivation at the catchment areas, effectively utilizing the irrigated water. He also oversaw the feeder canal to Meikhtila Lake as well as the condition of the dams along the canal.
