Awareness on Fire Safety: MOEA Union Minister attended the ceremony

An awareness program on fire safety and demonstration was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs on Wednesday and it was attended by Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Jeng Phang NawTaung, Deputy Minister U Zaw Aye Maung and other officials.

First, the Union Minister made an opening speech saying that about 75 percent of losses have been caused by fire outbreak among the 9 natural disasters that people face every year. He stressed that it is necessary to draw up a complete fire prevention plan under the information and practical demonstration provided by the Fire Department.

He urged attendees to carry out the State’s natural disaster prevention activities as a national responsibility and continue to strive by participating in their respective roles. Then, officials from Fire Department under the Ministry of Home Affairs made a power point presentation of fire prevention awareness and the departmental staffs took part in the demonstration.
