Bago River Crossing Bridge: Construction progress of Thanlyin Bridge No.3

Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant together with officials inspected the construction site of Bago River crossing bridge (Thanlyin Bridge No-3) connecting Thaketa and Thanylin townships of Yangon Region on Saturday.

At the briefing hall, official reported on the progress of construction and prospects upon the completion. In his response to the report, the Union Minister said it is necessary to meet the set standard according to the design and to install the Aviation Light on Pylons. He also instructed to supervise the final process to meet the standard and to prevent the damage of the Pier due to the vehicles.

Then official from Road Department clarified the progress of measures including  the approached way and Asphalt concrete paving way, and installing road signs. the Union Minister insturcted to follow the update regulation released by the Ministry of Transport and Communication.

Afterwards, official from construction department reported on the progress of Toll Plaza and Control Building construction and plans for billing system. In his response, the Union Minister said emphasis will be made to complete the process in set time and arrangement has to be made for the billing system via Mobile Pay through QR Code.  

Then, the Union Minister and party inspected the construction site of approached way at Thaketa, Toll Plaza, Asphalt concrete road and up/down road of old and new bridges at Thanlyin site and instructed the necessaries. Bago river crossing (Thanlyin Bridge No -3) connecting Thaketa and Thanlyin is being constructed in line with the international standard and the facility is a 4-lane steel cable-stayed bridge with a length of 2,633 meters.

Upon completion, the bridge will provide for all round development including Yangon-Thilawa Special Economic Zone and regional Industrial zones as well as reducing the traffic congestion of Yangon city.
