Brazil and Benin sign cooperation agreements in Brasilia

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Thursday met his Beninese counterpart, Patrice Talon, at the Planalto Palace in Brasilia, in the first visit to Brazil by an African leader.

During the meeting, topics to be addressed include the state of bilateral relations, with emphasis on the significant technical cooperation agenda, and ways of strengthening partnerships in agriculture, energy, culture, tourism, trade and investment, among other areas. And, the two countries signed bilateral agreements to strengthen cooperation in areas such as culture and heritage, art and tourism.
