Buddhist temple in Melbourne damaged by fire

A Buddhist temple in Melbourne was extensively damaged by a fire late on Sunday, officials said. About 80 firefighters tackled the blaze at the Bright Moon Buddhist Temple in Springvale South for more than two hours to bring it under control.

Assistant Chief Fire Officer Paul Foster on Monday told the Australian Broadcasting Corp. That it was too early to determine what caused the fire and 30 residents were evacuated from the area. No injuries were reported.
