China to further contribute to global economic recovery, prosperity

Chinese Premier Li Qiang said Wednesday that China is determined to make greater contributions to global economic recovery and prosperity by sharing its own development opportunities with the world.

Li made the remarks in his speech at the Virtual G20 Leaders' Summit, which was chaired by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Li called on the G20 members to give high priority to development cooperation to achieve robust, sustainable, balanced and inclusive growth of the world economy and oppose the politicization of development issues.

Created in 1999, the G20 is a leading forum for international cooperation, comprising 19 countries plus the European Union and the African Union (AU). It works to address major issues related to the global economy, such as international financial stability, climate change mitigation and sustainable development.
